Lights Out: Ernie Fosselius’ Hardware Wars enjoys the distinct honor of being the first official Star Wars parody.
Premiering just seven months after the release of A New Hope, the 13-minute film went on to win fifteen film festival awards, including, most recently, the Lucasfilm Pioneer Award at the 2003 Star Wars Fan Film Awards. George Lucas himself has praised it as his favorite Star Wars parody of all time.
In short, you should probably watch it.
